Stewart Family "Camp-In"

Seemingly out of the blue (usually there's something that the kids see that spark their imagination when they come up with cute ideas, but neither Stu nor I know what made Max think of this one), Max asked Stu if we could have a camp-out.  Stu decided it was a great idea and filled me in later - we shopped for camping food during our weekly shopping trip and thought up an itinerary.  Here's how it's gone so far:

1. Stu set up three little pup tents the kids got from their Grandma for Christmas this year.  They're meant to go on a bed but they seem to work just fine on the floor.  The kids had fun playing, reading, and just hanging out in them this afternoon.

2. For dinner, we ate hotdogs, beans, chips, apples, and drank juice boxes on our picnic blanket

During our meal, we listened to SpongeBob SquarePants' Campfire song and then I put that into pandora.com and we listened to other songs that pandora came up with for us; one of which was the Phineas and Ferb theme song (yes!).

3. We cleaned up and played hide and seek.  I had to stifle my giggling in my hiding spot while I listened to Ryann count for her "seeking" turn.  She got from 1 to 19 correctly, then she skipped to 22 and got to 29, then she paused and called out "80!" and forgot to say "ready or not, here I come" and just started hunting.  Then, she'd found everyone but Stu and seemed to lose interest.  I had to prod her along, saying, "C'mon honey, you have to find poor Daddy, he's been hiding for about 10 minutes".  We finally found him under Ryann's comforter on her bed.  A few turns later, Max hid under the comforter on our bed and it took us quite some time to find him (he's such a good little hider!).  When we found him, he had tears under his eyes.  He was laughing and we asked him if he was hot under there.  He wiped his eyes and said, "Yeah!  It was so hot, my eyes were watering".  So we took the opportunity to tell the kids if they ever hide somewhere and they feel uncomfortable or even sick, they should COME OUT of their spot!  I also added that if mommy and daddy can't find them and give up and ask them to come out, they need to listen and come out so we don't get scared.

4. The kids got to have S'mores for their bedtime snack and we tucked Adam into his crib like normal but Ryann and Max snuggled up in sleeping bags in their tents.  They've been down there for about 20 minutes and so far Ryann has come up twice to ask for Rosko to come down with them (he went down but won't stay down) and to say she needed to get some more books from her room.  Here's a hard-to-see photo of them down there:
